MELBOURNE - May 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system located near the Bight extends a ridge over NSW while a deep low situated near New Zealand extends a cold front northward toward New Caledonia. The high will slowly move eastward to be situated over NSW by Wednesday. Following this high, a southwesterly change is expected to enter southern NSW later on Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayA cold morning with early frosts and fogs. The chance of showers on the far southern ranges close to the Victorian border. Chance of a shower in the Port Stephens area later in the day. Fine over the remainder. Dangerous surf conditions Sydney and northwards, easing during the day. Southeast to southwest winds.Wednesday 16 MayEarly frosts and fogs. Mostly sunny. Isolated showers in coastal districts from the Hunter northwards, most likely along the coastal fringe. Otherwise fine. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.Thursday 17 MayEarly frosts. Mostly sunny. Chance of a light shower or two in coastal districts from the Mid North Coast northwards, most likely along the coastal fringe. Otherwise fine. Chiefly light winds.Friday 18 MayEarly frosts. Mostly sunny. Chance of a light shower or two in coastal districts from the Mid North Coast northwards, most likely along the coastal fringe. Otherwise fine.
