Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the Bight will move slowly eastwards today and Tuesday to be over southwest Victoria by Tuesday night. The high will then drift northeastwards across Victoria on Wednesday and Thursday as the next front approaches the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers over southern and mountain areas, falling as snow above 1400 metres, rising to 1600 metres during the afternoon. Morning fog and frost patches over the northeast, otherwise fine at first across the north, but isolated showers penetrating north of the dividing range from late morning. Remaining cool to cold with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Tuesday 15 MayLocal morning fog and frost inland. Scattered showers over southern and mountain areas, falling as snow above 1700 metres at first. Light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Wednesday 16 MayCold at first with early morning frost and widespread fog inland. Areas of drizzle about the central and Gippsland coasts, clearing during the morning. A cool to mild, fine and mainly sunny afternoon throughout. Light and variable winds.Thursday 17 MayEarly morning frost in the north and morning fog patches over much of the State. Then a fine, mild and mainly sunny afternoon apart from isolated showers developing in the southwest. Light to moderate north to northwest winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDV10310
