MELBOURNE - May 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high near the Bight extends a ridge over NSW while a deep low in the Tasman Sea has recently reached New Zealand. Showers in the south and gusty southwesterly winds have eased in a wake of a recent cold front. The high will slowly move eastward to be situated over NSW by Wednesday. This will produce fine days, cold overnight temperatures and frosty mornings for most of the state throughout the remainder of the week. Forecast for the rest of MondayA cold morning, with frost and fog on the slopes and ranges. Fine apart from the chance of a shower or two about the Alpine areas this morning, and in the Port Stephens area. Partly cloudy throughout. Southeast to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty along the southern and central coasts.Tuesday 15 MayA cold morning with early frosts and fogs. The chance of showers on the far southern ranges close to the Victorian border. Scattered showers developing in the Port Stephens area later in the day. Fine over the remainder. Southeast to southwest winds.Wednesday 16 MayEarly frosts and fogs. Isolated showers in coastal districts from the Hunter northwards, most likely along the coastal fringe. Otherwise fine. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.Thursday 17 MayEarly frosts. Isolated light showers in coastal districts from the Mid North Coast northwards, most likely along the coastal fringe. Otherwise fine.
