Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 12/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Bight and a deep low to the southeast of Tasmania direct cool and gusty south to southwest winds over southeastern Australia. A front associated with this low will move over the ACT and southeastern NSW on Sunday, bringing showers to these areas, which are expected to fall as snow in areas above 1300 m. The front will also produce gusty winds over most of the state, strongest over the ranges and southern coastal districts. As the front moves out of the state late Sunday, showers will clear over most areas and the wind will gradually ease. The high will slowly move eastward to be situated over NSW by Wednesday. This will produce fine days, cold overnight temperatures and frosty mornings for much of the week.

Showers developing in the southeast, most widespread on western slopes of the southern ranges and falling as snow above 1300 metres. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.
