Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 10/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front crossing the Bight will reach southwest Victoria early Friday morning before extending rapidly eastwards over the State by Friday afternoon. An associated low will deepen south of Tasmania resulting in a colder vigorous west to southwesterly airstream over Victoria during the weekend. Another cold front will cross Bass Strait on Sunday then a new high pressure system will approach from the Bight on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayMostly fine, cool and clear. Isolated showers developing in the far southwest. Light to moderate north to northwesterly wind, freshening in the southwest.Friday 11 MayScattered showers developing in the south and isolated showers developing in most other areas. A cool and fresh west to southwesterly change extending from the west in the early morning and reaching the east by the afternoon.Saturday 12 MayScattered showers over southern districts with isolated hail. Isolated showers further north although dry in the far northwest. Snow showers above 1300 metres. Cool to cold with fresh west to southwesterly winds.Sunday 13 MayScattered to widespread showers over southern and mountain districts. Isolated showers over most northern areas but dry in the far northwest. Snow showers above 1400 metres. Cold with fresh to strong west to southwesterly winds, gale force about the coast, tending more southerly in the afternoon.Monday 14 MayIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, scattered over parts of Gippsland. Snow showers above 1300 metres, rising to 1500 metres in the afternoon. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Friday.Product IDV10310
