MELBOURNE - May 10/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge over New South Wales is weakening. On Friday a cold front will move through the western and southeastern parts of the state and a high pressure system will move south of the Bight extending a ridge behind the front. During Saturday the change will weaken on the north coast as the high strengthens the ridge over the northeast. The high is expected to move slowly east to be centered over the western Tasman Sea on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe chance of showers on the Alps. Mostly clear elsewhere. Southwest to northwest winds, tending light and variable across the north.Friday 11 MayPatchy morning fog in the northeast. The chance of showers on the Alps with possible light snow above 1500 metres. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northwest to southwest winds, gusty in the south, tending light and variable across the north.Saturday 12 MayMostly sunny throughout. West to southwest winds, tending light and variable across the north.Sunday 13 MayIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges, possible snow showers on the Alps. Partly cloudy in the south, mostly sunny elsewhere. Frosts on the slopes and ranges. West to southwesterly winds.Monday 14 MayPartly cloudy throughout. Frosts on the slopes and ranges.
