MELBOURNE - May 10/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak high pressure ridge will lie over Victoria for most of today. A cold front will cross the Bight to reach southwest Victoria early Friday morning before extending rapidly eastwards over the State by Friday afternoon. An associated low will deepen south of Tasmania resulting in a colder vigorous west to southwesterly airstream over Victoria during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayMorning fog patches in the north. Isolated showers possible over the far southwest and near the central and South Gippsland coasts. A cool to mild day, mostly sunny inland but with some cloud lingering in the south. Light to moderate northwest to westerly winds.Friday 11 MayScattered showers developing in the south and isolated showers developing in most other areas. A cool to cold and fresh west to southwesterly change extending from the west in the early morning and reaching the east by the afternoon.Saturday 12 MayScattered showers over southern and mountain districts with isolated hail. Isolated showers over the northern plains. Snow showers above 1200 metres. Cool to cold with fresh west to southwesterly winds.Sunday 13 MayScattered to widespread showers over southern and mountain districts with isolated hail. Isolated showers over the northern plains. Snow showers above 1200 metres.
