MELBOURNE - May 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over eastern New South Wales will weaken as it moves eastwards over the next few days. A slow moving trough of low pressure over the Northeast Pastoral will weaken during Thursday and Friday. A cold front will approach late Thursday and move across the south early on Friday. A high pressure system will become centred south of the Bight following the cold front and will move slowly southeastwards over the following few days. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Possible isolated thunderstorms near southern coasts. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds in the south moderating from the west.Thursday 10 MayIsolated early fog about the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Isolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms developing about southern coastal districts during the late afternoon and evening. Possible isolated showers about the Flinders district and far south of the pastoral districts until evening. Generally mild with light winds turning moderate to fresh northwesterly in the south later in the day.Friday 11 MayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, scattered about the southern coastal areas during the morning. Cool with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh near southern coasts.Saturday 12 MayIsolated showers about the agricultural area and West Coast district, scattered about the southern agricultural area. Cool with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh near southern coasts, gradually moderating.Sunday 13 May Isolated showers about the southern agricultural area, scattered near southern coasts. Cool with moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh near southern coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon until midnight Sunday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm with local falls of 2 to 10 mm about southern coasts and ranges. Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area gradually contracting southward then clearing.
