Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over inland New South Wales extends a weak ridge towards the coast. This ridge is expected to be the dominant synoptic feature over the next few days, keeping cold fronts to the south and directing relatively warm air across much of the state for the next few days. Towards the end of the week the ridge will weaken, allowing a trough and associated cold front to move across the state.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPatchy morning fog and frost in the east. Mostly sunny day elsewhere. The chance of afternoon showers over the Alps. The chance of evening showers over the far southern inland. Northwest to northeast winds, gusty in the south though tending light and variable across the north.Thursday 10 MayPatchy morning fog in the east. Isolated showers over the far south. Elsewhere a mostly sunny day. Southwest to northwest winds, tending light and variable across the north.Friday 11 MayPatchy morning fog in the east. Isolated showers over the far south. Elsewhere a mostly sunny day. Northwest to southwest winds, gusty in the north, tending light and variable across the north.Saturday 12 MayIsolated showers in the south.
