Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over northwestern New South Wales extends a weak ridge towards the coast, while a broad low pressure trough moves slowly across the central Tasman Sea. This ridge is expected to be the dominant synoptic feature over the next few days, keeping cold fronts to the south. Towards the end of the week the ridge will weaken, allowing a trough and associated cold front to move across the state.
Forecast for the rest of MondayLight patchy rain in the south. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to northwest winds.Tuesday 8 MayEarly fog and frost patches, chiefly in the east. Mostly sunny day. Southwest to northwest winds, with local afternoon seabreezes developing.Wednesday 9 MayThe chance of showers over the southern inland. Patchy morning fog in the east. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Mainly northwest to northeast winds, though tending light and variable across much of the north.Thursday 10 MayMostly sunny. Patchy morning fog in the east.
