Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 5/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of Adelaide extends a ridge into western New South Wales, while a broad low pressure trough lies over the western Tasman Sea. A deepening low within this trough is moving to the southeast as the ridge gradually extends towards coastal New South Wales. This ridge is expected to be the dominant synoptic feature during the next week, maintaining generally fine conditions across the region as it drifts slowly eastwards. A cold front appears likely to affect the state at the end of the week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayThe chance of showers about the central coast. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.Sunday 6 MayFine apart from the chance of morning showers on the far south coast. Mainly sunny after early fog and frost patches in the east. South to southwest winds.Monday 7 MayThe chance of showers across the southern inland. Fine and mainly sunny elsewhere, after morning fog and frost patches in the east. West to northwest winds.Tuesday 8 MayEarly fog and frost patches, chiefly in the east. Otherwise fine and mostly sunny. North to northwest winds.Wednesday 9 MayFine apart from the chance of showers about parts of the southern inland. Patchy morning fog in the east, otherwise mostly sunny.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Sunday.Product IDN10031
