Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system just south of Tasmania will continue to drift southwards and weaken today. A weak ridge of high pressure will move across the State during Sunday. A low pressure trough will approach southwestern Victoria during Monday before slipping southwards at night. A cold front will approach from the west later on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayMorning fog and frost patches over the north then fine and mostly sunny. Isolated showers over southern Victoria, scattered at first near the coast. Cool with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Sunday 6 MayLocal morning fog and frost then fine and mostly sunny over the north. Isolated showers in the south clearing in the west later. A cool to mild day with generally light winds.Monday 7 MayLocal morning fog and frost, mainly over the northeast. Isolated showers over South Gippsland at first then patchy rain developing from the west during the day. A cool to mild day with light to moderate northwesterly winds.Tuesday 8 MayPatchy light rain in the east clearing during the morning. Isolated showers developing in the southwest later. A mild to warm day with a freshening northwesterly wind.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
