MELBOURNE - May 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1029 hPa south of the Bight is expected to weaken and move slowly southeastwards on Saturday. A ridge of high pressure will extend from the southeast of the continent across northern parts of the State. A series of cold fronts linked to a deep low well to the south of Western Australia will move across southern parts of the State during next week. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts and ranges in the evening. A mild to cool evening with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.Saturday 5 MayFine apart from isolated showers about southern coasts and ranges. Possible isolated showers developing over Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island later in the day. Isolated early fog over the agricultural area. Cold early, with patchy frost on and east of the Flinders Ranges, then a mild day. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Sunday 6 MayCloudy with the chance of isolated showers over the west coast and southern agricultural area, increasing to isolated showers about western and southern coasts. Fine further north. Mild to warm with light to moderate northeast to northwest winds, freshening in the west.Monday 7 MayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area. Possible isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral districts. Mild to warm with moderate northerly winds turning west to southwesterly over western parts of State.Tuesday 8 MayFine apart from possible isolated showers over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Mild to warm with moderate northerly winds, shifting northwest to southwesterly from the west during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be generally around 2 mm over the southern agricultural area, with local falls of 2 to 5 mm over the Lower South East and about southern coasts. Less than 2 mm is expected over the northern agricultural and south of the pastoral districts.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers over the agricultural area on Wednesday, clearing later in the day. Showers then redeveloping over the far west on Thursday before extending to most districts on Friday. Mild to warm, warm to hot in parts on Thursday and Friday.
