MELBOURNE - May 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred south of the Bight is expected to weaken and move slowly southeastwards during the next few days. A cold front is expected to develop over the Bight late in the weekend then move across southern parts of the State early next week. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, scattered over the Lower South East and about Kangaroo Island and southern parts of Fleurieu Peninsula. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.Friday 4 MayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, scattered during the morning about the Lower South East, Kangaroo Island and southern parts of Fleurieu Peninsula. Isolated showers contracting to southern coasts and ranges in the evening. Isolated early fog over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cold early, with patchy frost on and east of the Flinders Ranges, then a mild day. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending northeast in the west.Saturday 5 MayFine apart from isolated showers about southern coasts and ranges. Possible isolated showers developing over the West Coast and Eyre Peninsula later in the day. Isolated early fog over the agricultural area. Cold early, with patchy frost on and east of the Flinders Ranges, then a mild day. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Sunday 6 May Cloudy with the chance of isolated showers over the agricultural area, fine further north. Mild to warm with light to moderate northeast to northwest winds, freshening in the west then turning southwest to southeast in the far west during the evening. Monday 7 MayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area. Possible isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastoral district. Mild to warm with moderate northerly winds turning west to southwesterly over western parts of State. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, with local falls increasing to 5 to 10 mm over the Lower South East and about southern coasts and ranges. Less than 2 mm over the northern agricultural and southern pastoral districts.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area.
