MELBOURNE - May 2/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough and associated cold front over central parts of the state will contract to the northeast today, before moving offshore overnight or Friday, with a second high extending a ridge into western New South Wales. There are indications that a low will develop over the western Tasman Sea later on the weekend keeping showers along some coastal parts, although it's position is currently uncertain. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayRain areas in the northeast of the state, contracting further northeast during the day and easing to isolated showers. Isolated thunderstorms in the northeast, mainly in the afternoon. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. Southeast to southwest winds extending throughout.Friday 4 MayIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered near the coastal fringe. Fine and mainly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.Saturday 5 MayIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered near the coastal fringe. The chance of a shower or two about the south coast and alpine areas. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.Sunday 6 MayIsolated showers about the southern coast. Fine and mainly sunny elsewhere.
