Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 1/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the central Tasman Sea is drifting slowly east, maintaining a ridge to the northern New South Wales coast. A low pressure trough and associated cold front will approach the southwest of the state late today before moving east during Wednesday and Thursday, bringing rain and a cool southerly change to most districts. Conditions will clear from the west on Thursday as the next high pressure system extends a ridge across from the southwest, while a low is expected to develop near Tasmania. This low is not likely to significantly influence the weather in New South Wales, although there are some indications that another low may develop over the Tasman Sea later on the weekend.
