MELBOURNE - Apr 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is moving east maintaining a ridge to New South Wales north coast. A cold front preceded by a rainband will move through the state during Wednesday and a low will develop east of Tasmania on Thursday. The low is expected to move very slowly east-northeast during Saturday and Sunday as another high pressure system moves southeast of the Bight extending a ridge to the northeast. Forecast for the rest of MondayThe chance of showers on the northern coastal fringe. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Tuesday 1 MayIsolated coastal showers along the coastal fringe in the north and isolated showers in the far west. Northwest to northeast winds ahead of a late south to southwest change in far the southwest.Wednesday 2 May Partly cloudy in the far northwest and in the northeast apart isolated showers on the coastal fringe. Rain areas elsewhere contracting east during the day. The chance of thunderstorms in the central inland parts. the coast. East to northeast winds ahead of south to southwest change in the west and southeast. Thursday 3 MayRain areas in the eastern half contracting to the northeast. Mostly sunny in the west. Southeast to southwest winds extending throughout.Friday 4 MayIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered near the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
