MELBOURNE - Apr 29/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over eastern Victoria will drift eastwards to reach the Tasman Sea today. A cold front will enter southwest Victoria Tuesday afternoon, reaching central districts Tuesday night and will clear eastern Victoria Wednesday. A low pressure system is expected to form near southeastern Victoria during Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayEarly fog and frost patches then fine although high cloud increasing from the west during the day. Mild with light to moderate northerly winds and afternoon seabreezes about the Gippsland coast.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Tuesday 1 MayScattered showers developing in the southwest during the afternoon, extending to central districts during the evening and at night. Remaining dry over the east. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh north to northwest winds, ahead of a cooler southwest change extending from the west.Wednesday 2 MayAreas of rain over central districts contracting to eastern areas during the morning with only isolated showers to follow in the south. Cool to mild with moderate to locally fresh southerly winds.Thursday 3 MayScattered showers in the east tending isolated over western areas and dry over the far northwest.
