MELBOURNE - Apr 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system to the west will move across southern Victoria and Bass Strait late Sunday and will be located over the Tasman Sea on Monday. A cold front will enter southwest Victoria Tuesday afternoon, reaching central districts Tuesday night and will clear eastern Victoria Wednesday morning. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers over Gippsland and the central coast, contracting to East Gippsland during the morning and clearing in the afternoon. Local early morning fog over the west, otherwise fine and mainly sunny in the west and north. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh at first along the Gippsland coast.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Monday 30 AprilEarly fog and frost patches then fine although high cloud increasing from the west during the day. Mild with light to moderate northerly winds and afternoon seabreezes about the Gippsland coast.Tuesday 1 MayScattered showers developing in the southwest during the afternoon, extending to most remaining district during the evening and at night, although remaining dry over East Gippsland. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh north to northwest winds, ahead of a cooler southwest change extending from the west.Wednesday 2 MayScattered showers in the east, isolated showers over western areas.
