MELBOURNE - Apr 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front on the south coast will move north along the remainder of the coast today as a weak low off the southern Queensland coast moves to the southeast. A high will move over the southern Tasman Sea Monday following the passage of the cold front and maintain a ridge along the NSW coast Tuesday and Wednesday. Another cold front will enter the southwest of the state Wednesday, then move slowly through the remainder of the state Thursday and Friday as a strong high pressure system develops in the Bight. This pattern will see an increase in shower activity across NSW during the latter part of the week. Dangerous surf conditions are also likely to develop along the southern New South Wales coast during Sunday, extending to the remainder of the coast during Monday. Forecast for the rest of SundayRain in the northeast, tending to showers during the morning, possibly heavy at times on the Northern Rivers coast. Isolated showers developing along the remainder of the NSW coast behind a gusty southerly change. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early fog patches in the east. Southwest to southeasterly winds, becoming fresh and gusty along the coast.Monday 30 AprilIsolated showers along the north and central coasts and eastern side of the northern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early fog areas. Southeast to northeast winds.Tuesday 1 MayIsolated morning showers along the coastal fringe in the north, extending to the adjacent ranges during the day. Northwest to northeast winds ahead of a gusty south to southwest change in the southwest later in the day..Wednesday 2 MayClearing early in the day in the southwest, but rain developing over central parts and southeastern parts. Isolated showers on the northern coast and adjacent ranges. South to southwest winds extending over southern parts of the state, gusty along the coast.
