MELBOURNE - Apr 21/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough off New South Wales coast will weaken by early Sunday as a high pressure system near New Zealand strengthen a ridge to the north coast. During Monday and Tuesday a cold front will move through the state as the high moves to the southeast and the coastal ridge weakens. Another high pressure system is expected to move south of the Bight later on Tuesday or Wednesday extending a ridge behind the front. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers on the coast and on adjacent ranges. The chance of thunderstorms on the coastal fringe. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Light winds tending north to northeasterly on the coast in the afternoon.Sunday 22 AprilLight patchy rain developing in the west, extending to central and southeastern districts during the day, and tending to rain areas in the far southeastern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds, turning southwesterly in the far southwest later.Monday 23 AprilLight rain in the in the central and eastern parts, heavier over the northeastern inland. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms on the western slopes. Partly cloudy in the far west. Northwest to northeasterly winds turning southwesterly in the west and southeast.Tuesday 24 AprilPartly cloudy in the far west. Light rain in the northeast, isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered on the Alps and falling as snow above 1600 metres.
