MELBOURNE - Apr 19/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation An upper disturbance over southern New South Wales will extend into eastern Victoria tonight before weakening and moving away to the southeast during Friday. A cold front will approach western Victoria later on Saturday before slipping away to the southeast early on Sunday. Another stronger cold front will approach from the southwest later on Sunday before sweeping through Victoria on Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayAreas of rain over eastern areas with isolated showers throughout most remaining districts, although remaining dry near the far western border. Isolated thunderstorms. Humid with chiefly light to moderate northeasterly winds.Friday 20 AprilPartly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms although fine over the far northwest. Morning fog patches. Mild to warm. Light winds inland but light to moderate northerly winds near the coast gradually turning southerly from the west.Fire Danger - Low to Moderate.Saturday 21 AprilIsolated showers developing over western areas during the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers possible near the eastern ranges. Mild to warm with a freshening north to northwesterly wind.Sunday 22 AprilIsolated showers tending to rain areas over the northeast ranges. A mild and mostly cloudy day with moderate to fresh northerly winds tending westerly from the west.Monday 23 AprilScattered showers tending to rain areas over the northeast. Isolated thunderstorms possible over the northeast.
