Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system southeast of Tasmania will drift over New Zealand and remain there for a number of days. Meanwhile, an upper disturbance will developing over northeastern Victoria by Wednesday and will move away to the southeast on Thursday. A surface trough will develop over the Bight on Friday and then move across western and central Victoria during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPartly cloudy over Gippsland with isolated showers and the chance of a thunderstorm, mainly in the east. Clear in the west and north. Generally light east to southeasterly winds, fresh about the coast.Wednesday 18 AprilMorning fog patches about the ranges and in the south. Cloudy with isolated showers in the northeast, extending westwards through central areas during the day. Showers increasing and tending to rain areas in the far northeast at night. Remaining fine in the far west. Generally light to moderate southeast to east winds, freshening about the coast during the afternoon.Fire Danger -  High in the southwest.Thursday 19 AprilMorning fogs about the ranges and in the south. Cloudy with areas of rain and possible thunderstorms over central and eastern areas, contracting to the east during the day. Moderate falls in the northeast, remaining fine in the far west. A mild warm day with a light to moderate northeasterly wind and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 20 AprilPartly cloudy with isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over central and eastern districts, mainly during the afternoon and on the ranges. Fine in the west. Isolated morning fog patches. Warm with light to moderate east to northeast winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Saturday 21 AprilIsolated showers developing over western and central areas, scattered at times in the southwest. Fine in the northeast. Mild to warming with light to moderate northwest to northeast winds tending west to southwest across western and central areas during the day.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Wednesday.Product IDV10310
