Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough off New South Wales north coast is deepening in response to approaching upper level cold pool and a high pressure system near Tasmania extends a ridge across the south and west of the state. The trough will gradually weaken during tonight and Wednesday as the high moves over the southern Tasman Sea strengthening the ridge across the state and the cold pool will maintain instability over the the eastern and central parts until Friday. During Saturday and Sunday a cold front is expected to move through the state follow by another upper level trough.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPartly cloudy in the west. Rain on the north and central coasts with local heavy falls. Showers elsewhere tending isolated west of the Divide. Possible thunderstorms over the northeast and near the central coast, chiefly in the afternoon. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 18 AprilPartly cloudy in the west. Rain on the central and south coasts with possible local heavy falls. Showers elsewhere tending isolated west of the Divide.. Possible thunderstorms over the northeast. Southeast to northeasterly windsThursday 19 AprilPartly cloudy in the west. Rain easing on the south coast. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scattered near the coast. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast and in the far southeast. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 20 AprilPartly cloudy in the western half. Isolated showers in the east tending scattered on the coastal fringe. Light winds tending north to northeasterly on the coast.Saturday 21 AprilIsolated showers on the north and central coasts and ranges tending scattered near the northern coast. The chance of showers in the southern inland. Partly elsewhere.
