Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over eastern Victoria is weakening while a high pressure system will strengthen to the southeast of Tasmania today and Wednesday before drifting over New Zealand on Thursday. A cold front will approach the Bight on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayAreas of morning fog, low cloud or drizzle about the ranges and southern districts. Then a fine and mainly sunny afternoon over much of the state apart from isolated showers over the east, with isolated afternoon thunderstorms about the eastern ranges. A mild to warm day with generally light east to southeasterly winds, freshening about the coast and in the east during the afternoon.Fire Danger -  High in the southwest, low to moderate elsewhere.Wednesday 18 AprilFine apart from isolated showers in the far east and early morning fog or drizzle patches in the south. A mild to warm and mostly sunny day with light to moderate northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Thursday 19 AprilCloud increasing across the north with isolated showers over eastern districts, becoming scattered in the far northeast. Morning fogs about the ranges and in the south. A warm day with a light to moderate northeasterly wind and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 20 AprilPartly cloudy with isolated showers over central and eastern districts, mainly during the afternoon and on the ranges. Fine in the west. Isolated morning fog patches.
