MELBOURNE - Apr 16/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough over central and eastern Victoria will weaken today as a high pressure system moves south of the State. This high will then strengthen to the southeast of Tasmania on Tuesday and Wednesday before drifting over New Zealand on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine, warm and mostly sunny over the north with light winds tending southerly. Cooler and mostly cloudy in the south with morning fog and drizzle patches and a moderate southerly wind. Isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms about the Gippsland ranges during the afternoon, then drizzle patches developing about the Gippsland ranges during the evening.Fire Danger - Low to Moderate.Tuesday 17 AprilFine apart from isolated showers over Gippsland, mainly in the far east, and areas of morning fog. A mild to warm and mostly sunny day with generally light east to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 18 AprilFine apart from isolated showers in the far east and morning fog in the south. A mild to warm and mostly sunny day with light to moderate northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Thursday 19 AprilFine apart from isolated showers in the east and morning fogs.
