MELBOURNE - Apr 15/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak low pressure trough will move through Bass Strait tonight and Monday morning. A high pressure system located near the Bight will pass to the south of Victoria during Monday. This high will then strengthen to the southeast of Tasmania on Tuesday and Wednesday before drifting over New Zealand on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine. Mainly clear skies but some cloud developing in the southwest. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds gradually shifting milder southerly over the west.Monday 16 AprilFine, warm and sunny over the north with light winds tending southerly. Cooler and partly cloudy in the south with morning fog and drizzle patches and a moderate southerly wind.Fire Danger - Low to Moderate.Tuesday 17 AprilFine apart from isolated showers over Gippsland, mainly in the far east, and areas of morning fog. A mild to warm and mostly sunny day with generally light east to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 18 AprilFine apart from isolated showers in the far east and morning fog in the south.
