Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge across New South Wales. A trough of low pressure will affect the state's southeast on Sunday as a cold front passes to the south. During Monday this trough is expected to move north and deepen off the coast in response to an approaching upper-level feature, while the high drifts away and loses influence. This high, however, will be replaced by another, moving to the south of Tasmania on Monday before strengthening over the southern Tasman Sea during Tuesday. This synoptic pattern is then likely to remain relatively unchanged through much of the week, with an easterly airstream directing showers onto the New South Wales coast. Most activity should be focused along coastal districts due to the presence of the trough, although some showers will penetrate further inland assisted by favourable conditions in the upper-atmosphere.

Northeast to northwest winds.Sunday 15 AprilIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered about the coast north of about Kempsey.
