MELBOURNE - Apr 10/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system centred southwest of Victoria is drifting slowly east, extending a ridge over most of the state. The high is expected to be the dominant synoptic feature during the next few days, maintaining a fine and stable atmosphere over most districts as shower activity becomes limited to coastal parts, mainly in the north. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayThe chance of showers about the central and northern coast and adjacent ranges, more likely on the coastal fringe between Port Macquarie and Newcastle. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning frost patches along the southern and central slopes and ranges. South to southeasterly winds, fresh and gusty about the northern coast.Thursday 12 AprilIsolated showers on the northern and central coast and adjacent ranges, more likely on the North Coast. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, tending light and variable across the southern inland.Friday 13 AprilIsolated showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges. Possible showers in the far northwest. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, and light and variable winds inland.Saturday 14 AprilIsolated showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges. Possible showers in the far northwest. Fine elsewhere.
