MELBOURNE - Apr 6/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight extends a ridge towards northern Victoria. A cold front over the Southern Ocean will cross southern Victoria late Sunday and early Monday. The high pressure system will then move eastwards and will be centred near southwestern Victoria by late Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts contracting to the coast by early afternoon then mostly clearing. Generally cool with fresh southwesterly winds easing.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Sunday 8 AprilIsolated showers in the southwest extending to central districts late afternoon. Generally cool with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds, freshening near the coast.Monday 9 AprilIsolated showers mainly in southern and mountain districts, becoming scattered in the southeast. Cool west to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong near the coast.Tuesday 10 AprilIsolated showers in southern and mountain districts, contracting to East Gippsland.
