Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 6/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge extends from New Zealand to eastern New South Wales, while a cold front is moving through South Australia and another front is moving through the Southern Ocean south of WA. The front currently over SA will move into southwestern NSW later today, bringing a gusty and cooler southerly wind change and isolated shower activity to the southwestern inland of NSW by midnight tonight. As the front moves eastwards on Saturday the southerly winds will extend to the northeast of the state, although showers are only expected on and east of the ranges and will clear from the south during the morning. The second front will move into NSW on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the inland near the Victorian border. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds near the coast, strengthening in the south. Light and variable winds inland, before a cooler gusty southwesterly change in the west tonight.Saturday 7 AprilEarly fog patches in the northeast, mainly about the tablelands. Fine in the west and on the far north coast. Isolated showers along the coast and ranges, clearing early in the south while extending to the north during the afternoon and becoming scattered overnight. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms on the northern ranges, central parts of the coast and the North West Slopes and Plains. North to northeasterly winds in the northeast. A cool southerly change extending across the remainder, strong and gusty about the coast at first.Sunday 8 AprilIsolated showers about the coast south of about Port Macquarie and the ranges. Scattered afternoon showers and isolated thunderstorms on the central and north western slopes. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, and generally southerly winds inland.Monday 9 AprilIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the northeast, mainly afternoon. The chance of showers about the southern and central coasts. Fine elsewhere. Northerly winds in the northeast, and cooler southerly winds through the remainder.Tuesday 10 AprilIsolated showers on the north coast and ranges, mainly during the morning. Fine elsewhere.
