MELBOURNE - Apr 5/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge extends from New Zealand to eastern New South Wales, maintaining generally stable atmospheric conditions and promoting fine weather in the region. A cold front is forecast to move from the Southern Ocean into western New South Wales during Friday, bringing a gusty southerly change and some shower activity to the southern inland, shifting to eastern parts on Saturday. Another ridge of high pressure is expected to rapidly move in from the west behind this system, mostly restricting showers to coastal districts from Sunday onwards. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers about the northern coast. Possible showers over the southern and central ranges. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Friday 6 AprilEarly fog patches in the east, mainly about the tablelands. The chance of morning showers near the northern coast, and across the southern inland late in the day. Fine, warm and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds near the coast, strengthening in the south later. Light and variable winds inland, before a late gusty southwesterly change in the west.Saturday 7 AprilEarly showers across the south, clearing from the inland early, then extending to the northeast during the afternoon. North to northeasterly winds in the northeast. A southerly change extending across the remainder, strong and gusty about the coast.Sunday 8 AprilIsolated showers about the coast and ranges, mainly in the north. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, and generally southerly winds inland.Monday 9 AprilIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the northeast, mainly afternoon. The chance of showers about the southern and central coasts. Fine elsewhere.
