Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak ridge of high pressure will persist over eastern parts of the State today. A cold front will move over the far west late today then to remaining parts of the State on Friday. A weaker front is expected to move over southern coasts on Sunday ahead of a strong high moving in from the west.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the north and west. Fine elsewhere apart from possible early morning fog patches in the southeast and Kangaroo Island. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds. Northerly winds freshening in the west ahead of a milder fresh to strong west to southwesterly change in the far west.Friday 6 AprilIsolated showers extending from the west during the day reaching Leigh Creek and Renmark in the evening. Showers tending scattered for a brief period about the southern coasts. Remaining fine and warm to hot in the far northeast. A milder, fresh to strong southwesterly change extending throughout during the morning and early afternoon, possibly reaching gale force over southern coastal waters in the afternoon and evening.Saturday 7 AprilPossible isolated showers over the southern agricultural area and west coast contracting to the Lower South East coast during the morning. Cool to mild with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Sunday 8 April
Possible isolated showers over the Lower South East coast extending to remaining southern coasts and ranges later in the day. Mild with light to moderate south to southeast winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning until midnight Sunday are expected to be up to 5 mm, with local falls of 5 to 10 mm about southern coastal areas.
Monday until WednesdayPossible isolated showers clearing from the south Monday morning and some possible thundery showers moving into the far northeast Wednesday afternoon. Fine otherwise. Generally mild with southeasterly winds turning warmer northeasterly on Wednesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
