Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure will linger over the State tonight and Thursday, as a cold front approaches from the west. The front will move eastwards across Victoria during Friday, introducing a cooler southwesterly flow that will persist for the remainder of the weekend. Another cold front will move over southern Victoria later on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine. Generally clear with light winds and seabreezes near the coast.Thursday 5 AprilFine apart from local morning fog in the south. A warm to hot and mostly sunny day with light winds and afternoon seabreezes developing near the coast.Fire Danger -  High in the southwest.Friday 6 AprilWarm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a cooler west to southwesterly change extending from the southwest during the afternoon and reaching eastern districts in the evening. Scattered showers developing from the west near and following the change. Isolated showers and thunderstorms about the eastern ranges in the afternoon and evening..Saturday 7 AprilScattered showers in the east at first. Isolated showers over remaining southern and mountain districts contracting to the coast during the day. Generally cool with fresh southwesterly winds easing.Sunday 8 AprilIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, increasing near the coast during the day. Generally cool with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds, freshening near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Thursday.Product IDV10310
