Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge extends from southern New Zealand to eastern New South Wales, maintaining generally stable conditions in the atmosphere and promoting fine weather in the region. A cold front is forecast to move into western New South Wales during Friday, bringing a gusty southerly change and some shower activity to southern districts, shifting to eastern parts on Saturday. Another ridge of high pressure is expected to rapidly move in from the west behind this system, restricting any showers to coastal districts from Sunday onwards.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPossible light showers about the southern and central tablelands, otherwise fine and mild. Southeast to northeasterly winds on the coast and ranges. Generally light and variable winds inland.Thursday 5 AprilEarly fog patches in the east, mainly about the tablelands. Isolated morning showers about the northern coastal fringe. Possible afternoon showers over the southern and central ranges. Fine, sunny and warm elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Friday 6 AprilIsolated showers about the northern coast, and in the far southwest late in the day. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds near the coast. Light and variable winds inland, before a late gusty southwesterly change in the far west.Saturday 7 AprilEarly showers across the south, clearing from the inland early, then extending to the northeast during the afternoon. North to northeasterly winds in the far northeast. A gusty southerly change extending across the remainder.Sunday 8 AprilIsolated showers about the coast and ranges, mainly in the north. Fine elsewhere. Southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Thursday.Product IDN10031
