Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge extends from the south of New Zealand through New South Wales. The high pressure ridge should persist over the state through the week, producing stable conditions and fine weather across much of NSW. A cold front, and its associated showers, is forecast to move into southwestern NSW on Friday afternoon, then progress eastwards on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayEarly morning fog patches in the east. Isolated morning showers on the coastal fringe north of about Port Macquarie. Isolated afternoon showers on the Snowy Mountains and on the eastern ranges in the south. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds on the coast and ranges. Southerly winds elsewhere.Thursday 5 AprilIsolated showers over the far southern ranges and over the northeast corner. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 6 AprilIsolated showers over the northeastern corner. Showers developing in the far southwest later in the day ahead of a gusty southwest change. Southeast to northeast winds elsewhere tending northwesterly in the west ahead of the change.Saturday 7 AprilShowers in the southwest, contracting to the southeast during the morning. The chance of showers developing on the northern ranges during the afternoon. North to northeasterly winds in the far northeast. A gusty southerly change extending through the remainder of the state during the day.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.Product IDN10031
