MELBOURNE - Apr 2/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weakening cold front approaching from the west will reach far southwest Victoria tonight, before sliding away to the southeast during Tuesday. An associated trough will extend across the State, reaching the far east Tuesday night. A ridge of high pressure will move over the State during Wednesday and Thursday, with the next front expected to enter western Victoria Friday afternoon, reaching central districts at night. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers over the southwest and the chance of a thunderstorm over the northwest but dry elsewhere. Generally light to moderate northerly winds although seabreezes along the Gippsland coast at first this evening.Tuesday 3 AprilPartly cloudy with isolated showers over southern and mountain areas. Fine, warm and mostly sunny over the north. Moderate to locally fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwest to southerly change extending from the west.Fire Danger - High in the northwest.Wednesday 4 AprilMorning fog patches in the south. Isolated showers about the eastern ranges in the afternoon. An otherwise fine, warm and mostly sunny day with light southerly winds and afternoon seabreezes near the coast.Thursday 5 AprilMorning fog patches in the south. Isolated showers about the eastern ranges during the afternoon and evening. An otherwise fine, warm to hot and mostly sunny day inland with light winds and milder afternoon seabreezes developing near the coast.Friday 6 AprilWarm to hot with a moderate to fresh northerly winds.
