MELBOURNE - Apr 1/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system lies near New Caledonia, while a high pressure ridge extends from New Zealand towards central parts of the New South Wales coast. A weak southerly change and associated trough passed through the southern parts of the state on Sunday and is expected to develop briefly into a weak low pressure system off the south coast on Monday before weakening again quickly as a region of cooler air in the upper atmosphere moves away. Another trough is expected to move through western parts of the state on Tuesday before slipping away to the south on Wednesday as the high pressure ridge is maintained across the region. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers across southern districts, clearing from the west. Isolated thunderstorms in the southeast, clearing later. Fine in the north. Generally south to southeasterly winds, tending light and variable about parts of the inland.Monday 2 AprilEarly fogs in the east, mainly about the ranges. The chance of showers on and east of the Divide, clearing from the south in the morning, and from the north by evening. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, with light and variable winds inland.Tuesday 3 AprilThe chance of showers about the southern Alpine area, otherwise fine. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, and south to southwesterly winds elsewhere.Wednesday 4 AprilThe chance of showers near the coast, mainly in the north. Fine elsewhere. Generally southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 5 AprilThe chance of showers east of the Divide. Fine elsewhere.
