Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 1/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high over South Australian coastal districts will move slowly southeastwards, to east of Tasmania by Monday. A front will cross southern parts of the State later on Monday then move into the far northeast on Tuesday. A weak ridge will remain over the Bight during the week as a deep low develops over the Southern Ocean. A new cold front will move across the State on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers over the West Coast, Pastoral and Flinders districts. Possible thunderstorms over the Northwest Pastoral and West Coast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. A mild to warm evening with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Monday 2 AprilIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms north of about Elliston to Renmark. Isolated showers developing about southern coasts. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, turning milder, fresh west to southwesterly in the west during the morning, reaching central and eastern districts in the evening.Tuesday 3 AprilIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms about the far northwest. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far northeast with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds extending throughout.Wednesday 4 AprilIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the northwest. Fine elsewhere. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 5 AprilIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the far north and west. Fine elsewhere. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds. Northerly winds freshening in the west and south ahead of a milder westerly change in the far west. Cumulative rainfall totals for the period Sunday until midnight Thursday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, with the chance of local falls up to 5 mm about the south of the North West Pastoral, and the far west.Friday until SundayIsolated showers extending from the west on Friday then contracting to the agricultural areas of the State on Saturday and Sunday. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting milder southwesterly during Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Monday.Product IDS10033
