MELBOURNE - Mar 31/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A near-stationary ridge over the northern New South Wales coast will weaken tonight as a trough of low pressure moves into southern and western parts of the state. This trough will bring the chance of showers or thunderstorms to southwestern districts from Sunday morning, extending to the southeast in the afternoon. A few showers are expected to linger about the ranges and coastal districts during Monday, with a return to mainly fine conditions on Tuesday as the ridge strengthens. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayThe chance of showers near the coast in the north, otherwise fine. Southeast to northeast winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Sunday 1 AprilEarly fogs about the coast and ranges. The chance of showers across southern and central districts, becoming more likely in the southeast during the afternoon with isolated thunderstorms. Fine and mostly sunny in the north, apart from an early shower or two about the far north coast. Generally south to southeasterly winds, although tending light and variable about parts of the inland.Monday 2 AprilThe chance of showers east of the Divide, mainly about central parts, clearing from the south later. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, with light and variable winds inland.Tuesday 3 AprilThe chance of showers along the northern coast, and about the southern Alpine area. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, and south to southwesterly winds elsewhere.Wednesday 4 AprilThe chance of showers near the coast, mainly in the north, otherwise fine.
