MELBOURNE - Mar 31/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak high over the Bight will move slowly southeastwards, to east of Tasmania on Monday. A front will cross southern parts of the State later on Monday then move into the far northeast on Tuesday. A weak ridge will remain in place over the Bight as a deep low develops over the Southern Ocean during the week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayPossible isolated showers about the Lower South East coast. Isolated showers also possible about the far north of the West Coast district and south of the North West Pastoral district. Fine elsewhere. A mild evening with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Winds remaining light to moderate northerly in the northeast of the State.Sunday 1 AprilPossible isolated showers over the West Coast north of Ceduna and parts of the Pastoral and Flinders districts. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Monday 2 AprilPossible isolated showers about the North West Pastoral and parts of the Northeast Pastoral, Mid North, Flinders, Eastern Eyre Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula. Isolated showers developing about southern coasts. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Warm to hot with moderate northerly winds, turning milder, fresh west to southwest in the west in the morning, reaching central districts in the evening.Tuesday 3 AprilIsolated showers possible about the far northwest. Isolated showers about southern coastal districts, clearing during the morning. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far northeast with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds extending throughout.Wednesday 4 AprilFine throughout with areas of cloud in the north. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals for the period Saturday until midnight Wednesday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, with the slight chance of local falls up to 5 mm about the south of the North West Pastoral.Thursday until SaturdayFine and warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds. Northerly winds freshening in the west and south ahead of a milder westerly change expected to move across the west of the State on Friday then remaining parts on Saturday.
