MELBOURNE - Mar 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front approaching western Victoria will weaken as it slides southeastwards across the State today. A high pressure system will move rapidly eastwards across the State during Sunday then another cold front will weaken as it approaches southwest Victoria late Monday. The front will move through Victoria during Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayEarly fog patches in Gippsland. Warm, fresh and gusty northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending eastwards during the day and reaching the far east at night. Isolated showers possible, mainly over southern areas.Fire Danger - Generally HighSunday 1 AprilIsolated showers mainly over eastern districts with the chance of thunderstorms over the eastern ranges. Cool in the south, but milder north of the divide with generally light to moderate southerly winds.Monday 2 AprilFine and generally sunny apart from local morning fogs and isolated showers over the far east. A generally mild day with light winds ending northerly.Tuesday 3 AprilIsolated showers developing in southern and mountain areas. Mild to warm at first with a moderate to fresh north to northwesterly wind.
