Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 29/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak trough of low pressure over Victoria will clear eastwards on Friday as a cold front approaches from the west. The front will weaken as it slides southeastwards across the State during Saturday. A high pressure system will move rapidly eastwards across the State during Sunday then another cold front will weaken as it approaches southwest Victoria late Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms mainly about the ranges, clearing this evening. Mild to warm with generally light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 30 MarchFine apart from morning fog patches in the east and isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms about the eastern ranges. A warm and mostly sunny day with generally moderate northeast to northwesterly wind. Milder seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coast during the afternoon.Fire Danger -  Moderate to high, reaching very high in the southwest.Saturday 31 MarchIsolated showers developing in southern and mountain districts. Warm, fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending eastwards during the day and reaching the far east at night.Sunday 1 AprilIsolated showers mainly over northern and eastern districts, more widespread over the northeast with the chance of thunderstorms. Cool in the south, but milder north of the divide with generally light to moderate southerly winds.Monday 2 AprilFine and generally sunny apart from local morning fogs and isolated showers over the far east. A generally mild day with light winds ending northerly.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Friday.Product IDV10310
