MELBOURNE - Mar 29/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak trough near the coast will move inland to be over the south of the pastoral districts this evening. A cold front will move into the far west Friday afternoon, reaching Eyre Peninsula in the evening and continuing northeastwards into the North East Pastoral district later Saturday as a weak high builds over the Bight. The high will move to the east of Tasmania on Monday as a front moves over ocean waters to the south. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms about the northern agricultural area and southern pastoral districts until late evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms also possible northeast of Moomba. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. A mild to warm evening with light to moderate south to southeast winds turning northeasterly in the far west.Friday 30 MarchIsolated morning fog patches across the agricultural area, otherwise fine with high cloud increasing from the west. Warm to hot with light to moderate northerly winds freshening ahead of a milder southwesterly change moving over the west of the State during the afternoon and evening.Saturday 31 MarchPossible isolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Fine elsewhere. Warm to hot with moderate northeast to northwesterly winds in the northeast ahead of a milder southwest to southerly change extending across the remainder.Sunday 1 AprilFine and partly cloudy. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout, tending westerly in the south.Monday 2 AprilPossible showers about the North West Pastoral and West Coast districts. Fine elsewhere. Moderate northerly winds, turning fresh west to southwest in the west from afternoon. Cumulative rainfall totals for the period Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be less than 2 to 3 mm.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers are possible about the far northwest of the State at times.
