MELBOURNE - Mar 28/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak trough of low pressure developing over western Victoria will linger over Victoria during Thursday then will clear eastwards on Friday as a cold front approaches from the west. The front will weaken as it slides southeastwards across the State during Saturday. A weak high pressure system will move rapidly eastwards across the State during Sunday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the far east clearing eastwards this evening. Fine elsewhere. Generally light winds.Thursday 29 MarchEarly fog patches then fine during the morning. Isolated showers and thunderstorms possible during the afternoon and evening, mainly about the ranges. Mild to warm with generally light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger - High in the southwest.Friday 30 MarchFine apart from isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms about the far east. A warm and mostly sunny day with generally moderate northeast to northwesterly wind. Milder seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coast during the afternoon.Saturday 31 MarchIsolated showers developing in southern and mountain districts. Warm, fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending eastwards during the day and reaching the far east at night.Sunday 1 AprilIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts and also over the far north.
