MELBOURNE - Mar 27/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system is strengthening in the Tasman Sea. A weak trough of low pressure will linger over Victoria Today and Thursday. The high will be east of New Zealand on Friday allowing a cold front to move through the Bight. The front will move across Victoria on Saturday with an associated low pressure system moving through the Southern Ocean. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the east, contracting eastwards during the afternoon and evening. Fine elsewhere. A generally mild and partly cloudy day with light winds and afternoon seabreezes near the coast.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Thursday 29 MarchIsolated showers possible over the east and northwest. Mild to warm with generally light and variable winds.Friday 30 MarchFine apart from isolated showers developing in the east. Warm day with generally light northwesterly winds.Saturday 31 MarchIsolated showers developing in southern and mountain districts.
