MELBOURNE - Mar 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will move into the bight today and extend a ridge across to northern Victoria. The high will then move slowly eastwards on Sunday to reach Victoria on Monday before drifting to the Tasman Sea during Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayShowers in southern and mountain areas, falling as snow about the Alps at first, becoming isolated and contracting towards the coast during the afternoon. Isolated showers possible north of the Divide during the afternoon. A cool day with a moderating southwesterly wind.Fire Danger - Low to Moderate.Sunday 25 MarchFine apart from isolated showers near the coast, clearing during the day. A mild day with light to moderate south to southwesterly wind.Monday 26 MarchFine. A mild and mostly sunny day with light winds inland and moderate southwest to southerly winds developing in the south.Tuesday 27 MarchFine.
