MELBOURNE - Mar 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system lies to the south of WA, with a cold front moving through southeast Australia. The combination of these two systems are producing dry southwesterly winds over NSW. Over the weekend the high will move gradually eastward, with dry and cool conditions continuing across much of the state. On Sunday as the moves closer to the Tasman Sea an onshore airstream will develop over northeastern NSW, with isolated shower activity returning to the coast and adjacent ranges. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers about the western slopes of the Alps, otherwise dry. Southeast to northeast winds in the far northeast. Gusty west to southwesterly winds remainder.Saturday 24 MarchIsolated showers about western slopes of the Alps, and near the Victorian border over the southern inland during the afternoon. Isolated morning showers on the northern coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost patches on the southern ranges. South to southwesterly winds easing.Sunday 25 MarchIsolated showers about the central and northern coast, fine and sunny elsewhere. Southerly winds.Monday 26 MarchIsolated showers in the northeast, fine remainder. East to southeast winds, tending northerly in the southeast.Tuesday 27 MarchIsolated showers in the northeast, fine remainder.
