Weather Situation A cold front just west of Tasmania will sweep across southern Victoria on Friday morning. On Saturday a high pressure system will move over the Bight and extend a ridge across to northern Victoria, then move slowly eastwards on Sunday and Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers in the southwest, becoming more widespread near the coast this evening. Fine elsewhere. Light to moderate west to southwesterly winds, tending northwesterly in the southwest and freshening.Friday 23 MarchScattered showers developing from the southwest during the morning, mainly in southern and mountain areas and falling as snow above about 1300 metres. Local hail developing in the south and the chance of thunderstorms in south Gippsland. A cool to cold day with a strong and gusty southwesterly wind extending throughout.Fire Danger - High to very high in the west.Saturday 24 MarchIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, more widespread in south and west Gippsland at first, contracting towards the coast during the afternoon. Isolated showers possible in the northwest. A cool day with a moderating southwesterly wind.Sunday 25 MarchFine apart from isolated showers near the coast, mostly clearing during the day. A mild day with light to moderate south to southwesterly wind.Monday 26 MarchFine apart from isolated showers possible in the far south.
