Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough extending over the west of the State will move east to reach Coober Pedy to Adelaide to Mount Gambier late this evening, reaching the North East Pastoral district Wednesday morning and throughout by afternoon. A cold front will move across southern parts of the State Thursday evening. A high is expected to build over the Bight during Friday and Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPatchy rain over western districts and Kangaroo Island, extending east to reach about Keith to Coober Pedy by late evening and increasing to areas of rain over central and southeast districts. Areas of dust about parts of Eyre and Yorke peninsulas and the Mid North until evening. A warm to hot evening with fresh northerly winds, lighter in the northeast, ahead of a cooler, fresh southwesterly change extending from the west coast of Eyre Peninsula to reach Coober Pedy to Adelaide to Mount Gambier late evening. Winds strong about the coast.Wednesday 21 MarchPatchy rain southwest of about Coober Pedy to Renmark, increasing to areas of rain over central and southeast districts, contracting east to clear the State by midday. Isolated showers to follow over coastal areas. Fine elsewhere. Fresh southwest to southerly winds, strong about southern coasts during the morning. Cool to mild, grading to warm to hot in the far northeast.Thursday 22 MarchIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area and the West Coast district, increasing to scattered over the far southeast during the evening. Cool to mild, warm in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds, tending fresh westerly in the south and strengthening about the coast.Friday 23 MarchIsolated showers about the agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to scattered over the far southeast in the early morning . Cool to mild, warm in the far northeast. Fresh southwest to southerly winds, strong at times about southern coasts.Saturday 24 March
Isolated showers about the agricultural area and West Coast district. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon until midnight Saturday are expected to be 15 to 30 mm over the Lower South East, 5 to 15 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area, and generally 2 to 5 mm elsewhere.
Sunday until TuesdayIsolated light showers possible about southern coastal districts, becoming confined to Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East early in the period. Fine elsewhere.
